Turn back time and indulge in sustainable cooking with our traditional soapstone cookware (kalchatti).

Used as kitchen accessories for nearly 300 years, soapstone cookware and pottery have been passed down through generations and still feature in many traditional households.

Hand-carved from the natural rock is mined from the foothills of the Eastern Ghats, our soapstone cookware is devoid of any artificial colour and exudes a rustic charm. Wondering whether you can use it on your gas burner? Absolutely! You can efficiently use these to make tamarind-based gravies such as rasams, sambars, kuzhambu and other types of curries right inside your modern kitchen.

We also season these pots in a traditional process using turmeric powder, sesame oil, castor oil and rice water for three weeks to ensure our soapstone cookware is a joy to cook with!

Tips for usage and care: Can be cleaned using regular dish wash soaps or liquids.
