Soapstone Cook pots are deep and crafted to have high edges to make it suitable for cooking tamarind based gravies like Sambar, Rasam, Kara Kozhambu, Vathal Kuzhambu etc. Gravies that use tomatoes work well in this too. The alkalinity of the soapstone interacts and sweetens the acidity in tamarind and tomatoes, leaving your gravy with a flavour like no other.

Soapstone Cook Pots make great hand-me-downs since they last forever with a little care. This is why many homes here in the south, have Kalchattis (Soapstone Cook Pots) that have been passed down by our grandmothers.

Each of these Cook Pots are made manually by our rural artisans and hence each piece is unique. They are seasoned for three weeks using Organic Castor oil, Organic Sesame Oil, Turmeric and Rice water so that you can immediately start using them on purchase.

Our Soapstone Cook Pots come in size variants ranging from 1 to 4 litres.
