Our handy Soapstone Mortar & Pestle can assist you in everything from pounding garlic and ginger to mashing masalas before you add them fresh to your gravies. You can pound spices like Pepper and Cinnamon to make a coarse powder too.
Each of these Soapstone Mortar & Pestle are made manually by rural artisans, who find soapstones in distant parts of Tamil Nadu, mine them and bring it back to their workshops in cycles. They need not be seasoned and can be used immediately after a thorough wash.
